The old Short-term Study visa has been replaced with the Short-term Student visa.
This is an unsponsored option available to applicants 16 years of age and older who wish to travel to the UK to enrol in a fewer than 11-month English language course.
The visiting visa is available to applicants who desire to go to the UK for a period of less than six months in order to enrol in an English language program at an accredited institution.
The English language course you want to take must be with a course provider at a recognized school in order for you to qualify for a short-term student visa.
You must adhere to the requirements for adequate upkeep and lodging, have enough money to cover the cost of traveling home. In some cases, you may also need to provide proof of a tuberculosis test.
If you are 16 or 17, you will additionally need to provide documentation of your parents’ approval.
The visa is only valid for the course for which you have been given authorization, and it is only valid for an 11-month period during that time.

The Graduate Route gives students the chance to continue their studies and look for employment while they are still in the UK.
International students may apply for the Graduate Route if they have successfully completed an undergraduate degree or higher and possess a current student visa.
Students applying through this method who are undergraduates or postgraduates will be permitted to stay in the UK for up to two years, while Ph.D. candidates would be permitted to stay for up to three years.
