EEA Nationals –EU Settlement Scheme

EEA Nationals, secure your future.

Learn how to protect your rights and those of your family after Brexit.
To ensure their ability to remain in the UK, EEA Nationals and their Family Members should register under the EU Settlement Scheme before the 30 June 2021.
In order to continue living and working in the UK after Brexit on January 31, 2020, EEA Nationals and their Family Members must submit an application under the EU Settlement Scheme. The application deadline is June 30, 2021.

EEA citizens and their family members are eligible to apply for either a “pre-settled” or a “settled status” under the EU Settlement Scheme. Upon applying, the status you receive will be based on how long you have been a resident of the UK.

The outline of the procedures to be followed in order to submit an application under the EU Settlement Scheme is provided below:

Download the EU Exit: ID Document check app on your phone or tablet first. You’ll need to scan your passport’s biometric information with this app. then snap a picture of yourself.

If you are unable to use the app, you can schedule a time to have your ID document scanned (this may include a fee).

2. After completing the aforementioned steps, the Home Office will send you a link via email or text message inviting you to fill out the online application for EU Settlement.

3. To support your application, you must present the appropriate documentation.

EEA Family Permit

Apply for EEA Family Permit to join your family in the UK.

Apply for an EEA Family Permit and Enter the UK instead if you are not eligible for the EU Settlement Scheme.
If they meet the requirements, family members of EEA citizens may apply for a family permit to accompany or join the EEA citizen in the UK. The following are considered family members: the EEA National’s spouse, civil partner, dependent direct descendants (under 21) of the EEA National or spouse/civil partner, and extended family.

Additionally, if a British national has used his treaty rights in another EEA State, his family members may also apply for a Family Permit.

Additionally, family members must apply from outside of the UK.

Family Permits are provided without charge and are valid for six months.

EEA Residence Card

Obtain an EEA Residence Card.

If you are not eligible for the EU Settlement Scheme, an EEA Residence Card will guarantee your right to live in the UK.Family members of EEA citizens must be in possession of documentation proving their eligibility to live in the UK. An EEA Residence Card is what this document is called. If they meet the conditions, family members of EEA nationals exercising treaty rights should apply for an EEA Residence Card as soon as they arrive in the United Kingdom. They will be able to live and work without restriction in the UK as a result. Additionally, a family member of an EEA national with maintained residency rights may apply for an EEA residence card by fulfilling the essential criteria (through a divorce, a death in the family, domestic abuse, etc.). In addition, if a family member of an EEA national satisfies the necessary criteria, they may also be granted a derivative right of residence. The duration of the EEA Residence Card is five years. Once those five years are up, family members may apply for a permanent residence card as well, provided they meet the necessary criteria. . EEA Permanent Residence

Apply for EEA permanent residency if you do not meet the requirements of the EU Settlement Scheme.EEA Nationals and their Family Members are eligible to apply for permanent residence, which is settlement.

After five years of continuous legal residence in the United Kingdom as a qualified person exercising Treaty Rights, EEA nationals will be able to apply for a Permanent Residence Card. No gaps are permitted during the five-year period, and they must meet all pertinent requirements.

The application must be accompanied by a specific amount of paperwork to prove residence and the exercise of Treaty Rights.

Following the issuance of an EEA Residence Card for five consecutive years, their family members may also apply for a Permanent Residence Card. They will need to fulfill the prerequisites and offer the necessary paperwork in support of their application.

There is a application fee. If they comply, they will be awarded permanent residence; however, are gone from the UK for longer than two years in a row.
